Bio

I have a ‘do what it takes’ philosophy. No one two people have the exact same needs in life, and the same is true about therapy. Drawing on knowledge from my range of education and experiences, I treat each individual in a way that is uniquely suited to their needs as they present themselves that day. This means that no two treatments are exactly the same, and also that you’ll benefit from the variety of therapies that I have to offer. You can opt to receive just one type of therapy, but if you’re open to it, my preference is to draw from a variety of modalities so we can better tailor the treatment to meet your specific needs.

In addition, I feel strongly that during a treatment, therapist and client are working together. The client has an important role in the healing process both during and between sessions. Therefore, as part of the treatment, I will offer suggestions for homecare, nutrition and overall body awareness.

I graduated with high honours from the Shiatsu School of Canada and Acupuncture Institute in both their Shiatsu (2005) and Acupuncture (2009) programs.  Having completed my Yoga Teacher Training (2007) in both hatha and ashtanga at The Yoga Sanctuary, I brings this additional knowledge of the body to my treatments.  I have pursued continuing education in Craniosacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release with the Upledger Institute and Visceral Manipulation with the Barral Institute.  I find this lens for viewing the body and its light-touch approach has proven an invaluable addition to my treatments.

I am co-founder of and continue to play an active role in Traditional Chinese Medicine Ontario (TCMO), an organization committed to supporting the needs of Acupuncturists and TCM practitioners and raising awareness about this Medicine in Ontario. While not currently involved in instruction, I have previously held various roles at the Shiatsu School of Canada/AIM Academy (SSC), including instructing various shiatsu and acupuncture courses, supervising shiatsu and acupuncture student teaching clinics and as Director of their Shiatsu Diploma Program.  I am a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.) with the CTCMPAO (College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario).
